Since 2015 MSE has been delivering workshops on technical photography to landscape and planning professionals throughout the UK. In 2018 the Landscape Institute ran a series of Digital Practice Days where Mike led workshops on 'Technical Photography in LVIA: How to get it Right Every Time'. Landscape Institute events were held in London, Manchester and Bath.
Additionally Mike led workshops in Bristol, at Natural England, and for local authority planning officers in Bath UNESCO World Heritage City, and was an Expert Witness for major tower block development affecting the setting of Royal Botanical Gardens at Kew, west London.
In October 2018 Mike accompanied Chris Blandford Associates to deliver visualisations from Heritage Assets event for Historic England in Birmingham.
In January 2019 Mike delivered a technical paper on Verified Photomontages at Aalto University in Helsinki. He has been invited to deliver a technical paper on Verified Photomontages at a Visual Resources conference in Illinois, USA, in October.
In October 2021 Mike delivered an online paper "25 years of Renewables Visualisations in the UK, 1996-2001" to the North American Visual Resource Stewardship (VRS) conference held at Utah State University.
Further technical papers are planned in the US in 2022.
